Rampur: Miffed over Pakistan's victory celebration by his wife and in-laws over India in the T20 World Cup match held on October 24, a man in Rampur has filed an FIR against the latter.

"An FIR has been registered after a case of making fun of the Indian cricket team came to our notice on the basis of a complaint made by a man," said Ankit Mittal, Superintendent of Police (SP).

Complainant Ishan Miya who lives in Azam Nagar of Rampur has alleged that his in-law and wife burst crackers and also went ahead by putting up Watsapp status after Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in the ongoing T20 World Cup match.

He has lodged the FIR in the Ganj Police Station of Rampur district under Section 153-A of Indian Penal Code and Section 67 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008.

"The husband and wife started living separately soon after the marriage. The wife lives with her family and has filed a dowry case against the husband," reads the FIR.

Reportedly, commenting on the FIR, the police said that soon after the marriage the duo separated. The wife against who the FIR has been lodged lives with her family and has also filed a dowry case against the husband.

However, as of now, the matter is under investigation, according to SP.
